About Me

I am extremely passionate about computers, programming and videogames! In May 2024 I graduated from Drury University with a Computer Science degree. My experience there saw me grow as a programmer and as a person. I became a tutor and teacher assistant that helped others, I participated in Cybersecurity competitions and worked on award-winning games with my peers. I am now looking for a place to put my skills to use and leave my mark in the world!

Teacher Assistant (2023 - 2024)

I became a teacher assistant during my senior year at Drury by the recommendation of the department chair of Math & Computer Science. I worked with a new professor in an introductory course for computer science using Python. My main role was grading and aiding during class labs. On a couple of instances I gave lectures for exam reviews.

  • Aided in one Introduction to Computer Science section with no failing students
  • Guided occasional lectures for exam reviews that improved scores on average by 30%
  • Led weekly lab sessions to implement different data structures in Python
  • Fostered an environment of trust in two separate Computer Science classes with one-to-one sessions with 20% of students
  • Implemented automatic grading through GitHub Actions to cut down on grading time by 60%

Computer Science Tutor (2022 - 2024)

I started working as a tutor for the department of Math & Computer Science during my junior year. I focused on helping students from fresmen to seniors for exam reviews, catching up, and studying. I also ocassionally worked with students from other majors to find ways they could use programming for their assignments, like in data analysis and such.

  • Carried north of 350 tutoring sessions from 2022 - 2024 focused on Computer Science concepts.
  • Improved by at least one letter the grades of students who frequented tutoring.
  • Explained step-by-step fundamental algorithms and implementations in Python & JavaScript with up to 9 students at a time
  • Empowered Non-Computer Science students to implement programming into their workflows within their respective fields
  • Collaborated with faculty on a regular basis to prepare for different student assignments and tests in all the department classes
  • Became one of the top learning resources for students who frequented tutoring in the department of Computer Science.

I attended Drury to earn my Bacherlor in Computer Science. Additionally, I picked certifications in Graphic Storytelling & Interactive Design due to my interest in game development, and Cybersecurity Fundamentals to explore the world of hacking and system hardening. In my desire leave my own social bubble, I participated in clubs and organizations like the International Student Association, Drury’s Indie Game Studio, Math & Computer Science Club and as a team member for Drury’s Cyber Defense Club.
